GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STORAGE PLANT
The storage plant will be connected to Terna’s National Transmission Network (RTN) and will consist of the following main installations:

-
No. 12 electrochemical storage blocks with 1.2 MWp (nominal power) and 5.2 MWh (maximum capacity)
-
No. 3 conversion blocks
-
No. 1 user substation composed of one incoming line bay and two medium-to-high voltage (MV/HV) transformer bays
-
Underground medium voltage (MV) ducting (30 kV) for the connection between the battery blocks and the user substation
-
Underground high voltage (HV) ducting (132 kV) for the connection between the user substation and the Terna RTN substation in Novi Ligure
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE STORAGE BLOCKS
The planned storage plant includes an outdoor installation, located on a single plot of land owned by the developing company.
The containers that make up the basic storage module include a control and monitoring system (BMS), with an energy storage capacity reaching up to a maximum limit of 5.2 MWh per block.
The technology currently selected is Li-FePOâ‚„ (lithium iron phosphate).
To enable system scalability, the design includes the installation of one conversion block for every four storage blocks, thus creating a type of subsystem that can be connected in parallel at medium voltage (30 kV).
CONVERSION BLOCK CHARACTERISTICS
This medium-voltage solution integrates all the necessary components to develop a large-scale production plant.
